Sad news on the farm. Stormie layed down to sleep and never woke up. Kev found her this morning. She will be greatly missed as her Daddy's shadow. She went every where Kev went on the farm and loved to ride the four wheeler to check the fence.

Hi, my name is Senorita Margarita Pleased To Meet Ya (aka Margarita). I enjoy grazing around on the Weeping Willow Farm, which has no weeping willows. Never have understood that, my crazy human parents and some of their names they come up with. That's why I just go by Margarita on the farm. I think they were listening to the Big and Rich singers when they came up with that name. What do you expect from a singing group called Big and Rich. Humans? Any way life on the farm isn't all bad, my human Dad is kind of cool he makes sure we have plenty to eat and drink. He even treats us sometimes to these really good round sweet things. I of course have to fight to get any because all the other horns have to get in the way. When Dad sees I haven't gotten any he will come to me and pour some out just for me. That's why I love him so much. I should be having my baby soon. When I do maybe my human parents will post a picture of my new bundle of horns. Can't wait to see what it will be. Don't really care as long as it isn't human. Moo Ha! Moo Ha! Got to go for now because it's cutting into my grazing time.

COLOR CHANGE IN LONGHORNS

In the longhorns their color changes as they get older, as you can see in this calf. Yes, I know the

sun is shinning in the second picture and not in the first picture. But the spots on her side and hip are getting darker. And there are some that are standing out more that we didn't notice when she was born. We have notice that last years calves did the same thing and some of them ended up with a lot of black. I will also keep you posted on the change in this calf as she gets older. She may also be for sale in the near future.

NEW BABY BOY HAS ARRIVED!!

No, we will not be naming him. But If you are interested in a registered longhorn bull or steer in the near future let us know. He will be for sale! He will more than likely turn darker in color. May even end up black and white. Will keep you all posted on color change. Oh, yes that is his mom in back ground.

This is Domino. He is the newest rabbit addition. Once again we have a hard time saying no when it comes to animals. A friend of a friend needed someone to take him, so we did. He fits in well with the rest of the farm.

FAMILY OF BEES

This is the family of bees that moved in for the summer. I noticed one day when I was out on the porch something coming out of the bird house and it wasn't a bird. Then when I got closer I noticed small ones coming out too. I couldn't run them out because it was a whole family. Then when Kevin made the comment about them pollinating the garden for him I knew we needed to leave them along. They have now moved out. Which was a good thing since we had to take the birdhouse down off the porch a couple of weekends ago because of the bad weather. Now we have another one that may be coming our way. So we will be getting all the family ready for this one. Will let you know how it turns out.

A NEW FAMILY MEMBER HAS ARRIVED

I have received a new bunny. My nephew Jake got him for me. I haven't named him yet so if you have any ideas let me know. Not sure if it is a male or female. Looking for a name that would fit for both. I keeping wanting to call it Noodles but not sure if I like it. Jake don't want me to name it Noodles. He said Thumper but I already have a Thumper. So help me out if you can. This new baby needs a name!

I have a tender heart for animals. So here is one of those story's. A friend of mine had been asking me about raising chickens because he wanted to get some for his kids. So I told him a few things I know. Then he came to me and said he couldn't get any chickens til he found a home for his two rabbits. He wanted to know if I knew anyone who would take them. He wanted to make sure they got a good home. Well those of you who know me. I picked up the phone and called Kevin to see if we could take the rabbits. Kevin being like me said yes. (I knew he would.) So we got Gussy and Thumper. Kevin built a big pen for them. Being the summer time we had to put fans on them and keep them with lots of water. Now for the sad part of the story. We were getting ready to go on a trip so Kevin went out to make sure everything had plenty of water and food. After I got done packing I came out to see if he need any help. He told me the bad news. He found Gussy. Yes, not good. We had a funeral at 11:00 pm. The ground was so hard and the only soft place to dig was in the garden. So I wrapped Gussy in a old towel and Kevin dug a big deep hole at the corner of the garden. We are still not sure if it was age or heat. Maybe both. But he had not shown any sights of a problem before. I know that he had a good life and he will be missed. Now on a good note. We still have Thumper. He is not the type that wants to be picked up but he loves carrots. I am working on getting him another friend to stay in the condo next to him. As soon as I do there will be pictures.

Tink is in the top picture. She is Tory's baby. Tory is in the bottom picture. They stay in a pen with some of our chickens. As you can see they get along real well. The chickens even like to ride the goats backs sometimes. Tory is more friendly than Tink. She will let you love all over her and Tink will only come close enough to let you barely touch her.

Stormy is our blue healer. I got her for myself after Bluebell our first blue healer died. I went to pick a puppy out and is was pouring down rain. She waited till all the other puppies ran to the gate to keep my attention then tried to make her escape. I picked her up and knew right then she was the one for me. Boy was I wrong. See, I hadn't told Kevin what I was doing. So when I went to pick him up from work that day it was a surprise to him. But all the way home she laid right up around his neck. Do you think that should have given me a clue? Well it wasn't til a little later that I came to see she wasn't my dog at all she was Kevin's. She follows him everywhere when he is out side. She shows her teeth if any of the other dogs get close to him. Yes she still loves me, but she chooses him over me. I guess that is only fair since Tracy chooses me over Kevin.

Kickapoo is out of one of our older mama cows we had when we started raising longhorns. I'm glad we decided to keep him because his mama died. But we still have her. We have her head mounted and she hangs on the wall above our bed. Yes I know! Above the bed? That is the only place she would fit in the house. Unless you are a true country person at heart you wouldn't understand. That's what makes Kevin and I who we are. If you know us well you know what I mean. Back to Kickapoo, he is a grand steer. The picture does not show you his size well. I'm 5'4"
and his back is taller than I am.
